DETAILS Stone Setting : Jadau Kundan Material : Base Metal Finish : Gold Plated Fastening : Hook Chain Contains : One Necklace CRAFT STORY Mortantra's Pichwai Inspired collection began with our admiration for the painted miniatures of Nathdwara, a centuries old tradition where devotion meets art on cloth and now on jewellery. With this devotional vocabulary as our focus, we craft each piece with silver foiled stones for shine, brass to hold them together and gold plated all over to make devotional Indian art available beyond the temple wall as accessible luxury. The Pichwai tradition began in 17th century Nathdwara, Rajasthan. Painted cloth panels hung behind Shrinathji in the temple, depicting his daily darshan, the seasons of Braj, and the lotus, peacock, cow, and gopi motifs that have become the visual signature of the tradition. Mortantra's Pichwai Inspired jewellery translates that visual vocabulary into wearable form, with gold plated metalwork holding the miniature at the centre. THE PIECE A long beaded strand carries a single square pendant. The strand alternates green stones, pearls, and a third coloured bead in amethyst, peach, or pink red depending on the variant. The pendant is a gold framed panel with a thin blue Meenakari border, holding a Pichwai miniature within an arched panel. The three variants show, in turn: a Tree of Life in blossom, a single floral arrangement, and a fruit laden pomegranate tree. A small bead drop in the matching colourway hangs from the base.
